For the funny ones: the funny jokes
Sometimes jokes may seem trite and obvious, but other times they can actually amuse and entice the other person to respond. Humor is essential to break the ice; the important thing is not to say obscenities.
- Pineapple pizza: yes or no? Our relationship depends on it.
- Do you believe in love at first sight or should I upload more photos?
- Will you go to the movies with me? If it doesn't go between us, at least you will have seen a good movie.
- Don't we have any mutual friends who can introduce us?
- Type 1 to receive a compliment. Type 2 to receive a meme. Dial 3 to receive a funny joke.
- I lost my phone number, can I have yours?
For the bravest: phrases that get straight to the point
Want to get straight to the point? Don't want to squeeze your brains for elaborate compliments and particularly brilliant phrases? If you are a determined and confident person, then this kind of approach might be for you.
- Are you also likeable or just beautiful?
- How about skipping the part where I make a funny joke and we exchange numbers directly?
- I have great news for you: you don't have to keep looking for love anymore. I'm here.
- I make the best carbonara in town. Do you want to come to my house to check it out?
- What do you want to do on our first date?
- How many times have they hit on you today? Counting this one, too.
- Shall we say we met at the bar or through mutual friends?
- Hi! You like compliments, don't you? So do I! You start.
For the shy ones: the classics
For the more shy, there are the classic phrases that allow a polite and more reserved, but still pleasant, approach. Also, mentioning each other's interests and hobbies will show that you have actually viewed and read the information on their profile.
- Hi! I noticed that (insert interest) you like it too, so I found the first thing we have in common. Now it's your turn.
- I can tell from your profile that you like to travel. Which city would you like to visit?
- Your picture is very beautiful. Where did you take it?
Flirting can and should also be fun! The first message is an introduction of yourself, so avoid sleazy jokes and trite phrases. Try to be original in your approach, otherwise yours will just be one conversation starter among many for the other person. You don't necessarily have to tell her something memorable that will later be written in the annals, but making her laugh may help you get an initial response.
